By registering for, requesting, or using a Findr Developer API key, you agree to these terms in addition to the main Findr Terms of Use. The main terms govern the underlying registry data; these terms govern programmatic access to it.
Developer API access is available to verified developers, journalists, NGOs, law enforcement liaisons, and institutional partners. Findr reserves the right to approve, deny, or revoke API access at our discretion, including without prior notice in cases of misuse.
The Findr Developer API is intended for purposes that align with the platform's mission: helping locate missing persons, raising public awareness of verified cases, supporting journalism, and enabling institutional partner integrations.
You agree to use the API in good faith and within published rate limits.
You may not use the Findr Developer API to:
Misuse of the API will result in immediate revocation of access without refund or notice.
API keys operate in two modes:
Specific rate limits are published at api.findr.ng/api/v1/developer/docs and may be adjusted from time to time. Per-key overrides may apply for institutional partners with written agreements.
Applications and platforms that surface Findr case data publicly must attribute the source clearly. Acceptable formats include “Powered by Findr” or “Data from findr.ng”, displayed near the case data and linked to findr.ng.
Internal, non-public uses (such as a partner organisation's case-management dashboard) do not require visible attribution but must retain Findr as the source of record in any database column or audit trail.
Findr verifies case data before publishing it to the registry, but does not guarantee the data is free from error. The status of a case (missing, found, deceased) may change at any time. You are responsible for refreshing data at a cadence appropriate to your application and for handling status changes correctly in your own interfaces.
The Findr Developer API is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uptime or service-level agreements unless covered by a separate written partnership agreement. Findr may modify, suspend, or discontinue any API endpoint with reasonable advance notice to active developers.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Findr is not liable for any outcomes arising from your use of the Developer API, including but not limited to incorrect identification of an individual, actions taken in response to API data, or service outages.
Findr may revoke any API key at any time, with or without notice, in cases of suspected misuse, breach of these terms, or as required by law. Revoked keys cease functioning immediately. The associated developer account remains accessible for record purposes.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.
Findr may update these terms as the Developer API evolves. Significant changes will be communicated by email to active developer account holders. Continued use of the API after notification constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
